Enaj Lee’s art is heavily influenced by the cultural, ethnic & religious variations that have surrounded her throughout her life. Born in Seoul, Korea on 3 May 1968, her family immigrated to Los Angeles, California where she was raised. The vast cultural diversity of the area allowed Enaj to develop a unique esthetic sense & spiritual persona. As an adult she traveled extensively throughout North America, Western Europe, West Africa & Central America finally deciding to call New Zealand home.
Her formal fine art training was developed at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she received her Bachelors in Fine Arts degree & at the Claremont Graduate University where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree. Always searching for new inspirations, Enaj continues her informal training by enjoying life, meeting new people & listening to their stories, histories & dreams.
Always committed to the actual concept & implication of her artwork, Enaj Lee has worked in all medias in order to convey her vision. Her body of work includes traditional & digital drawings, photographs, paintings as well as sculptural objects & site-specific installations. She is also a self-proclaimed epicurean extraordinaire living by the philosophy of “la dolce vita” in all her pursuits.
